This is the best Italian food I ever had, short of going to an Italian section of New York, Boston, and Syracuse. Every dish is superb. You will never be disappointed, no matter what you order. It has been a long time since I was last here at Amici's as it was night time and closing in 45 minutes. I called ahead for a pizza to go. Upon arrival with 20 minutes before closing although the dining area was empty, before I even got out of the car I have never seen so many people walk in then out of a place. These weren't delivery drivers they were regular people like me who called before closing. Very clean inside of course. The staff was very polite and even offered to carry my pie out to the car. I bought a large pie with two ingredients. Good pizzas are born here.
This is my favorite pizza in the Bay Area. Well, I'm also a big fan of Arizmendi's. Which is interesting as they are very different kinds of pizza. Amici's comes closest to the NY style I grew up with back east. When I first moved to California I was frustrated that everything I tried that claimed to be NY style just didn't do it. My only complaints are that they don't deliver where I live (use to live near one) and they are a bit on the pricey side. But I rather pay more and get something this good.
